Beauty among the grey

Much though I love working in the Oxford Clay, I do have to admit that it can be visually monotonous.  It's grey.  Pure, unremitting grey.  When you're in an OC quarry, the floor is grey, and the walls are grey.  On a cloudy day, so is the sky.  The grey is broken only by the hi-vis of whoever is down there and the colour of the tools in use.

Yesterday, though, there was sunshine (and some occasionally-dramatic cloud), and it's wildflower time.  I took this photo of an embankment on the walk down to the quarry floor.  Sheer beauty!
